The label will focus on developing local artists and entertaining internationally, with McLean Smith noting that it will focus on artists who might be overlooked by major labels.

McLean Smith praised XCalibre’s work ethic and passion in a statement to The music network.

“I’ve worked closely with XCalibre for a few years and they have the same amazing work ethic and passion for music as I do, so it was a perfect match and so proud of the release today, but there is has bigger and better things in the pipeline for XCalibre and XBC, ”McLean Smith said.

The label’s longtime executive also shed light on XMusic’s ties to Xtreme Boxing Corporation, of which he was also a co-founder.

“XMusic is a division of Xtreme Boxing Corporation, or XBC, which is a new Australian-owned global sports / entertainment company of which I am also a co-founder,” explained McLean Smith.

“It was due to launch in 2020, but COVID-19 has postponed that until we can really tour the world, bringing young Australian artists and athletes onto the world stage.

“Look at this space because it’s new, super XCiting, and will take the world by storm.”
