Budding singer Marky Moore said winning the Akinyemilaw song challenge, is a boost to his musical career.
The competition, hosted by attorney and entrepreneur Akinyemi Ayinoluwa, co-founder of Hightower Solicitors, ran solely on Instagram with a “vision of empowering the next generation of Nigerian songwriters and producers.” The winners were chosen by music consultant Obinna Agwu, who served as the contest judge.
Hailing from Anambra state, Moore expressed his joy at winning the contest with a prize of $ 150. He said: “I am happy to be the winner of the competition and also want to say a big thank you to the organizer for making this competition a success among emerging writers and producers. It will indeed be a boost for my career. It is a kind of competition that is needed in the industry to help recognize and encourage writers, as well as producers.
Moore beat the competition of Samuel Ademuyiwa, who placed second and won $ 100 for his efforts. The producers, The Wizard and Teezy Beatz, also took home $ 150 and $ 100 respectively.
The winning songwriters and producers, along with six other finalists, will receive a free pass to Ayinoluwa’s upcoming copyright webinar for music creators.
