After a dark year, there will be an uplifting spectacle at an upcoming birthday party.
Not only are New Yorkers back in nightclubs, we are told that nightlife legend Steve Lewis – who as Page Six reported recently had a brain tumor removed – will be in the DJ booth at the birthday party of Noel Ashman, another night vet next Thursday at Chelsea club Noir NY.
We are told Lewis, who has run such vaunted clubs as Limelight, Club USA and Palladium, is fully recovered from the April operation and will once again take over the bridges at the party.
âAfter being in a dark place for a very long time, I feel honored to be a DJ for my friends and family,â Lewis told Page Six, âplus I had to come back to life to make sure that Noel didn’t fk up his birthday. “
He also had cerebral artery bypass surgery and hip replacement surgery, and a GoFundMe page raised $ 35,000 to help him recover.
The page noted, “Steve single-handedly hired thousands of people from bartenders, promoters, bus boys, doormen, mascots, go-go dancers, drag queens, DJs, ticket distributors. alcohol, printers, entrepreneurs, not to mention its endless list. assistants, contributing greatly to the economic vitality of New York’s nightlife as well as the livelihoods, career growth and opportunities of its staff.
The party is hosted by actor William De Meo, acclaimed private investigator Bo Dietl and Vanity Fair mainstay George Wayne, and will also celebrate the birthdays of “Sopranos” star Vincent Pastore and model Caron Bernstein.
Ashman is currently producing a movie starring Bruce Willis, Shannen Dougherty, Jesse Metcalf and Natalie Yura, we’re told.
