Superstar DJ Calvin Harri said he would never sing on any of his own tracks again because of his “fishy” voice.
The multimillionaire, Dumfries-born music maestro admitted he was still amazed he got a recording deal because of his bad voice.
He said, “I just knew I couldn’t keep singing all the songs, so I had to do something.
“I’m not a sentimental guy but sometimes I look back and I’m like, ‘How the hell did I get a deal on this debut album?’ The gods were smiling at me.
Calvin, who is estimated to be worth £ 230million, is now focusing on singers like Dua Lipa and Rihanna, the stars of his tracks rather than his riffs.
He added: “You have to work with good singers. They must be amazing.
The superstar musician provided vocals for all tracks on his debut album I Created Disco, which included Acceptable in the 80s and The Girls.
He also sang on his 2009 songs Ready For The Weekend, I’m Not Alone and You Used To Hold Me and sang on the 2014 # 1 hit Summer and “My Way” in 2016.
The Los Angeles-based DJ, who lives with his model girlfriend Aarika Wolf, has had two No1s with Rihanna, including We Found Love.
He has also written, produced or mixed songs for dozens of megastars including Kylie Minogue.
