While it might be his birthday, Brooklyn musician KOTA the Friend is giving his fans some goodies by hosting an album signing for his album EVERYTHING on October 16.
EVERYTHING is from KOTA the Friend, born Avery Marcel Joshua Jones, fourth studio album and features appearances by artists Joey Bada $$, Braxton Cook, Bas, KYLE, and more.
The album also features an interlude track by Lupita Nyong’o, the first song on the inaugural Biden / Harris playlist, and one by actor Lakeith Stanfield.
KOTA the Friend has repeatedly turned down major labels to remain an independent artist, and released their first mixtape Palm Tree Liquor in 2016, followed a year later with their second mixtape, Paloma Beach.
Her first independent studio album Anything was released in 2018, followed by her second album Foto in 2019, which was ranked 17th.e best Hip Hop album of the year by Rolling Stone. His third album, Lyrics to GO, Vol. 1, was released in 2020, with their album EVERYTHING – which peaked at 162 on the Billboard 200.
In 2021, KOTA the Friend has so far released two albums: Lyrics to GO, Vol. 2 and To Kill a Sunrise in collaboration with Statik Selektah.
The multi-talented Brooklyn-based artist will be holding the signing at SKAL BK in Bedford Stuyvesant (373 Lewis Avenue) at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 16.
